Academic Quality
At AICB, we are committed to assuring the standards of our awards and continually developing the quality of our provision.
The Quality, Policy and Regulation team is responsible for ensuring AICB meets the regulatory requirements of our various external regulatory bodies which allow us to award qualifications. We work closely with colleagues within the organisation and in the wider educational communities to quality assure and enhance our practice.
Academic Audits
The Academic Audit committee was established by our Board of Governors as an independent committee with responsibility for assessing the effectiveness of all aspects of our quality assurance systems. The committee’s main responsibility is to implement and review a rolling programme of audit activity to ensure our policies and procedures are fit for purpose and influenced by good practice.
External Examiner information
External examiners play an integral role in assuring quality assurance, and the enhancement and development of our programmes. The role is critical in maintaining the academic standards of our awards.
The principal responsibilities for External Examiners are:
• Ensuring assessment (including exam) procedures have been fairly and properly implements, and decisions have been made after due deliberation
• And ensuring that the standards of awards and student performance are comparable with those in other higher education institutions, and that they reflect the principles set down in the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (FHEQ)
